Greece will invest 387.24 million euro in sustainable tourism development, local daily Kathimerini quoted the country’s tourism Minister Olga Kefalogianni.
The project financed by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan, includes promotion of the sustainability of destinations, the differentiation and improvement of the competitiveness of the Greek tourism product, the upgrading of tourism education and training, and the strengthening of the promotion of the Greek tourism product with a new approach and the use of new tools, the newspaper added.
Four main projects worth a total of 222 million euro including the upgrading of tourism ports, the upgrading of ski and mountain lodge facilities, and the improvement of beach accessibility are already under way.
Revenues from the tourism, the country’s main industry, amounted to 17.91 billion euro in the first three quarters of 2023 compared.
