Electrical vehicle (EV) charging station operator Eldrive will install a network of fast-charging stations at the Billa Bulgaria stores, Bulgarian weekly Kapital reported.
Eldrive already completed the installation of two charging stations, one in the capital of Sofia and one in the town of Blagoevgrad, in the Southwestern part of the country, Kapital added.
Billa currently has a total of 154 stores in Bulgaria.
Earlier this month Eldrive signed a partnership agreement to build EV charging stations at hypermarkets owned by Bulgarian Videolux Holding.
Videolux Holding, which is the owner of electronic device retailer Tehnopolis and home and garden hypermarkets Praktiker, said that fast charging stations are already installed on three hypermarkets and it expects installation of three to four more by the end of this year and 20 more in 2024.
The plan is in the next few years all of the 50 hypermarkets operated by the holding to be covered with fast charging stations.
Eldrive, which operates in Bulgaria, Romania and Lithuania, has more than 1000 charging points installed.
